Vice President Creative Director, Lapiz - Leo Burnett Group

Originally from Mexico, María joined Leo Burnett Mexico City 19 years ago as an Art Director working on several P&G brands as well as Kellogg’s, Corona and Phillip Morris.

In 2002, María moved to Chicago and joined the creative department at Lápiz/Leo Burnett, working with brands such as Disney, McDonald’s, Kellogg’s, Toys ‘R’ Us, and Chase Bank. A few years later as P&G’s group Creative Director, María was instrumental in helping bring seven other brands to the Lápiz portfolio.

In 2011, María became Allstate’s USH creative lead. Since then, she’s launched several holistic campaigns, social-first campaigns and activations for different soccer properties, including a Cannes and Effie-winning social campaign for Allstate’s 2014 World Cup sponsorship.

An award-winning creative, María’s work has been recognized in various categories at Cannes and at festivals such as D&AD, The One Show, Clio, LIA, The Webby Awards and in multiple Hispanic award shows. Her work has also been featured in Communication Arts and Lürzers Archive.
