His sayings are “Go Where The Love Is”, “Utilize the Innovation of Imagination”, and to tell the stories that need to be told so that you create an evolving template for where the next generation draws inspiration from- creating and demanding stories which represent their values, their reality, and their beauty.
Gil has been in the music business since 1989 when he worked at an indie record shop near the University of Arizona campus in his hometown of Tucson, AZ.
Gil moved to LA in 1994 to work in the music industry, a dream he had ever since discovering the West Coast Punk Scene and falling in love with IRS, Warner, and Slash Records.
Gil, after interning at MCA Records (briefly living in his truck) worked at the legendary A&M Records (then based on the former Charlie Chaplin Movie lot) in product/project management where he worked with: Blues Traveler, Soundgarden, and many emerging artists. He left the major label world after 2 years to work with Film Director Robert Rodriguez’s then label Cockroach Records where he had to be a one man record and management company.
Gil also worked as project manager at Croshal Entertainment Group, where he quarterbacked such projects for Smokey Robinson, Jackson Browne, Tracy Lawrence, and The Crystal Method.
